Annual Open International Competition of Computer Projects among Kids, Youth and Students “DIGITAL WIND” is co-held by International Faculty of Applied Computer Technologies of Saratov State Technical University, Saratov Arena Multimedia Center and “Softline” group of companies (Moscow, Russia).

The Competition aims at developing creative interest in information and computer technologies; improving practical skills in with the field of Internet technologies and computer graphics; studying of modern software for creating Web applications and Computer Animation.

The competition is held from November, 15 till April, 30, 2010. The projects are registered at the Competition's official website www.digitalwind.ru till March, 15 2010. The regional tours are held from November, 20 2009 till January, 30 2010. The winners of the regional tours are automatically promoted to the second tour of the main competition. If the relevant regional tour is missing the contestant should register to the main tour.

The projects may be submitted to the following nominations:

1. Web Applications:
   • Interactive application:
     1. under 12: Free Topic.
     2. from 13 till 17: ”Virtual World” .
     3. from 18 till 21:”Virtual World”.
   • Website:
     1. under 12:”My Little Homeland”.
     2. from 13 till 17: Free Topic.
     3. from 18 till 21: ”Student Portal” or “Corporate Web site” .
2. Multimedia Technologies
   • 2D static graphics:
     • under 12:”My Favourite Book” .
     • from 13 till 17: Free Topic.
     • from 18 till 21: Free Topic .
   • In 2D and 3D animation nominations the topics are free among all age groups.
3. Computer Games:
   • Casual computer games .
     • from 13 till 17.
     • from 18 till 21.
   • Smartphone and Pocket PC casual games:
     • from 13 till 17.
     • from 18 till 21.
     Casual games are games for random players - people who play from time to time. These games are simple and don’t require high level of computers and other devices use (Pocket PC, Smartphone, mobile phones etc.). They are well designed, have no violence and easy to play.
   • Online Flash games :
     • from 13 till 17.
     • from 18 till 21.
     Topics are free among all age groups.
